  1. I don't know what I would have voted for because honestly I have no idea what Obama's job bill is because I don't understand what it's supposed to be.

  2. To be honest, I have no idea what this bill is talking about. All i understood was that it is for $447 billion and that is a whole lot of money. There needs to be some change done, and everyone just seems to be fighting over it. If this bill is not passed, another one should soon. Unemployment is still very high, so something needs to be done.

  3. i don't really understand what the bill is for. All i know for a fact is that its using $447 billion, which is a ton of money. If its going to create jobs and cut the unemployment rate down why fight over it. It would help get our economy back on track.

  4. I would not vote for it because I do not understand why he would try to spend billions of dollars on this "jobs bill", that does not even make sense, instead of giving the money to the people. Why spend money when the bosses of the workers are laying the workers off because the bosses can't even give the people their pay checks or wellfare money? Why make an expenisve "jobs bill" when the money could be put to other important uses, like the acutal pay checks of the workers.

  5. In all honesty, I still don't really understand it and i doubt that I will. All that i can really gather from it is that Obama is trying to tax the rich and save the teachers job and make more jobs.

  6. The bill is confusing to me but i agree with Obama for trying to help the middle and lower class out with money but I'm not sure how he is doing it. I think it didn't get passed yet because congress is confused about the bill and is thinking about how it will work. Its a lot of money that is going to be used so we can't let it go to waste.

  7. Okay i was abit confused about this article but if its saying what i the article is talking about what i think, then i agree that the bill should be passed to better help the people; who are without jobs and lowers taxes. But the amount of money that it would take for the bill might be a lot but in the end its worth it.

  8. I think I would have voted in favor of this bill. I know that $447 billion is a lot of money but it's going to good causes to our economy. It also provides people with short-term jobs, and that really would help a bunch of people out.

  9. i would not vote for this bill because i do not see a need to spend all that money when some how some way we the people of the U.S.A. are gonna have to end up paying all that money back

  10. i would vote for it, but i also think that some people that he's granting the money to, wouldn't use it honestly. I feel like its a great idea to create jobs with the stimulus money, but thats also a lot of money to be using. The bill sounds like a great idea, its just the congressmen that he's giving it too, i wouldn't trust them to use it rightfully.

  11. Why doesn't the government simply tax the 1% (the rich) more? I feel like our government is just wasting time with shady bills that might help our economy, but really is defending the rich from being taxed. All of these bills that are getting rejected are just trying to give temporary jobs in low paying wages like construction and other jobs that will make our country's appearance look healthy but deep down, our country is a mess.

  12. obama wanted $35 billion for states and localities to hire more teachers and first responders while preventing current ones from being laid off but the bill was not passed. i think that it would be good to do that and have more jobs for people even though not everyone wants to be a teacher but a whole bunch of people are desprite for jobs i think that they would be ok with being a teacher. The bill also says to give more money to first responders like police force and thing would be great. i think this bill would be a good bill to pass but the senate doesn't think so.The funding would have been paid for by a 0.5% tax increase on people earning more than $1 million a year. Republicans opposed the tax increase. i think that people with more money should pay higher taxes because they have the money its not like they are going to hurt rich people. It hurts the little people because most the jobs even if you have a job i'snt enough to pay for all the thing we need most people live paycheck to paycheck and things need to be done i think what obama was doing was great but i am sure he'll find another way or just keep fighting it.

"For the second time in two weeks, every single Republican in the United States Senate has chosen to obstruct a bill that would create jobs and get our economy going again," Obama said in a statement.

  13. I would vote against the jobs bill because America can not afford it. Also, the bill is only creating enough jobs for a year, therefore, in a year we woul just be back to where we started.

  14. I agree with obama trying to help put the lower and middle class by trying to fund money for more jobs, but I am still confused about the rest of the bill. All I understand so far is that a lot of money is going into this bill that does not look like it will be passed. So why keep trying to spend money and debate on a bill that no one understands, even if its suppose to provide jobs to those less fortunate.

  15. i would not vote for it, it sounds like a bunch of crap if you ask me. and when a democrat votes against obama, that is clearly a sighn its a waiste of money. either because it would not work or it just was a uninteligant idea in the first place

  16. I am split on this, some parts i really do like, yet others are confusing or i disagree with. I would like the government to pass the teacher/first responder part along with the tax breaks. However extending the unemployment insurance and benifets only makes the problem worse and lets people leech of the government for longer periods of time. Then there are some details i do not know or can not find, and some that confuse me, i would need further research to decide if i would pass this or not, but one thing is for certain it needs to be reformed.

  17. Obama is asking for alot of money from the federal budget to help us americans get back to work and improve our economy, but it is money that we really dont have, there were not enough votes to let the bill pass, so therefore it was not passed and now we are back to the drawing board, tryinf to find ways to get jobs back for our americans.
